Mount Osborne

Mount Osborne (78°37′S 84°47′W / 78.617°S 84.783°W / -78.617; -84.783) is a mountain (2,600 m) on the southwest side of Thomas Glacier, 5 nautical miles (9 km) east of Mount Craddock, in the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Thomas M. Osborne, Navy builder, who helped construct and served at the South Pole Station with the winter party, 1957.
