Location of the neighborhood in Fortaleza

Dom Lustosa is a popular neighborhood in the western zone of Fortaleza – CE, in the Northeast Region of Brazil, which is part of the Regional Executive Office (SER – in Portuguese: Secretaria Executiva Regional) III.

Limits

  • North: Alagadiço Creek and the Avenida Coronel Matos Dourado (with Antonio Bezerra)
  • South: Avenida Senador Fernandes Tavora (Henrique Jorge and Autran Nunes)
  • East: Avenida Coronel Matos Dourado (Perimetral, with the Pici and Henrique Jorge)
  • West: Cardeal Arcoverde, bordering Autran Nunes

Institutions

There are two (2) private schools, Fernão Dias and Getúlio Vargas, and four public schools, Justiniano de Serpa (the popular "Maria da Hora"), Ayrton Senna, Paulo Freire (formerly Centro Educacional Demócrito Rocha) and Waldemar Alcantara. Moreover, the local population still has access to the Urban Social Center (CSU – in Portuguese: Centro Social Urbano) César Cals, Regional III, on the border of the neighborhoods Dom Lustosa, Pici and Henrique Jorge, with health posts and various sports and cultural activities, such as swimming and break dancing. The chapel was the initiative of Father Almeida. The lady known as BIA Mother, daughters, grandchildren and son, are the true founders of the chapel. The area was near the city will acquire, for the range of the court.
