Dhaka Dynamites (often abbreviated as DD) is the franchise representing Dhaka in the Bangladesh NCL (National Cricket League) Twenty20, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team is led by Mohammad Ashraful. Mohammad Ashraful is the team's Icon Player. The official colors are Blue and yellow. The team also has three players who are iconic. In Dhaka Dynamites it is all rounder Mahmudullah who has been on the Bangladesh national team many times. Also the wicket keeper Jahurul Islam. And also the allrounder Mahbubul Alam. They are owned by Beximco, a company which produces Textiles, Basic Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Jute, Marine Foods, Real Estate and Development. Dhaka Dynamites finished first in the 2009/10 groups winning all their five matches.

Cricket Ground

The cricket ground for the Dynamites is the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. So all their home matches are played at this stadium. Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium or Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNS), is a cricket ground in the Mirpur Thana district of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It holds 36,000 people and was built in 2006.[1] At first, it was named "Mirpur Stadium", but the Bangladeshi government later renamed it as "Shere-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium."

The owners of the Dynamites is Beximco this is a company specialising in producing clothing materials.Beximco is a company which produces Textiles, Basic Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Jute, Marine Foods, Real Estate and Development.Bangladesh Export Import Company (BEXIMCO) is a Bangladeshi industrial conglomerate. The industries under this Group include Textiles, Basic Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, Jute, Marine Foods, Real Estate and Development. Services provided by Beximco include Engineering, Media, Information Technology, Trade and Financial Services. Beximco Pharmaceuticals and Shinepukur Ceramics are the two units which has got world class factory.

2009/10 Season

On the 12 of April, The Dynamites started with victory on their first match against Barisal Blazers at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium where they won the match in the final over with five balls to spare. Shamsur Rahman was awarded man of the match scoring 41 runs off 41 balls.This kicked of Dhaka's T20 tournament.

On the 13 of April, Dhaka was playing against Sultans of Sylhet for their second match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 2 Ground in Savar. They comfortably won by 40 runs bowling the opposition for only 93 runs. Mohammad Rafique was given the man of the match award for picking up 4 wickets for only 7 runs with an economy of 2.00.

On the 15 April, the Dynamites played Kings of Khulna at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. They won by 7 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Mohammad Ashraful was given the man on the match award for picking up 3 wickets for 20 run.

On the 16 of April, For their fourth match at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka they were to play Cyclones of Chittagong. Dhaka won the match by 17 runs. Rubel Hossain, from Cyclones of Chittagong got the man of the match taking a five wicket hall for 32 run.

On the 17 of April, Dhaka eased an easy win over Rajshahi Rangers at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. Dhaka won by 8 wickets with 30 balls remaining after bowling the Rangers for just 83 runs. Shahadat Hossain got the man of the match award getting 2 wickets for 13 runs.

Dhaka Dynamites finished top of the table winning all of their matches.

On the 19 of April, The Dynamites had to play Rajshahi Rangers in the quarter finals after their heavy defeat over the rangers in Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. The Rangers won by great batting in the match. The man of the match was Naeem Islam by an all round performance picking up two wickets and scoring 31 runs.

So Dhaka finished 3rd in the first tornement of the ncl t20 even though the finished first in the group table
