Decian persecution

Decian persecution

The Decian persecution under the emperor Decius was one in which the imperial Roman government issued tickets (libellus) indicating that, as per requirement, citizens had sacrificed (sacrificati) or burned incense (thurificati); and libellatici (certificates) certifying that apostates had renounced Christianity.[1]
