Corporate activities

Alexander-Goulandris is the Chairman of the Board and majority shareholder of Monaco-based, Victory Carriers and Petromaritime, not affiliated with Petromaritime Consulting, also a Monaco corporation.

Victory Carriers, Incorporated, is a Monaco-based petroleum and energy shipping company. It is among many of the multi-billion dollar holdings built, owned and controlled by Alexander-Goulandris. He purchased the neglected remnants of the company, along with the remnants of the flagship company, Olympic Maritime, both companies originally started in 1943 by family friend, the late Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis, from the Onassis estate for a reported $250 million. Alexander-Goulandris has built the privately owned concern, through aggressive acquisitions and the construction of new megaships, into one of the world's largest and most influential energy shipping companies.

Among Alexander-Goulandris' subsidiaries include Petromaritime, the Victory Group, a commercial real estate enterprise which owns over 15,000,000 sq ft (1,400,000 m2) of commercial real estate around the world, including a large portion of Olympic Tower in New York City and at least one dozen additional subsidiaries.

Relationships

He is reputedly a close, influential, advisor to the Saudi royal family, the emirs of Qatar and Kuwait, as well as the leaders of the U.A.E. and to many of the world's largest oil companies. He is also a close friend and associate of Russian oligarch and Chelsea Football Club owner, Roman Abramovich and a close friend of Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin's. He enjoys close relationships with former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

Wealth

Alexander-Goulandris is not included in the Forbes list of the world's richest people as his personal wealth, like that of many Monaco-based insiders, cannot be assessed with any accuracy from publicly available information.

It is rumored that Alexander-Goulandris currently has another giga yacht, 135 m., under construction by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, Germany. Its estimated delivery date is July, 2011. Alexander-Goulandris owns one of the largest megayachts in the world, the Dubai-registered M/Y, Delma, length: 279 ft 7 • 85.23 m.

His private jet fleet includes a Boeing 767-400ER, with, among other security measures, includes ultra-sophisticated communications systems and anti-missile defenses, which is registered in Aruba as of April, 2010, two Gulfstream G550s. two Sikorsky S-92A helicopters and a helicopter tender on board Delma.

In September, 2010, AOL's Luxist reporter, Jared Paul Stern along with the Wall Street Journal, reported that Alexander-Goulandris purchased what is said to be the most expensive home. Priced at €240 million, or about $312 million, the Monaco penthouse formerly the home of the late Edmond Safra, is reportedly the most expensive home ever to have been sold after Villa Leopolda, another Safra property. The penthouse, according to Luxist's revision, was, in fact, engineered by Alexander-Goulandris and purchased by a member of the U.A.E.'s Al Maktoum family. The sale of Villa Leopolda actually fell through and was not completed by Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov, making the sale of the Monte Carlo penthouse the most expensive sale of a residential property worldwide. The record for most expensive home, reportedly costing more than $1 billion, however is the newly built, 400,000sq ft., Antilla in Mumbai which also holds the record for the worlds largest private residence.

Personal

He is reported to be single and manages to keep a very low profile. He maintains homes in Greece, Switzerland, Paris, London, Antibes, New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii and Monaco, his principal residence. Very little else is known about him as he has a passion for privacy.
