Gillellus chathamensis, known commonly as the Cocos stargazer in the United Kingdom,[1] is a species of sand stargazer in the genus Gillellus.[2] It is a tropical blenny known from Cocos Island, Costa Rica, in the eastern central Pacific Ocean.[2] It was described by Dawson in 1977,[3] and can reach a maximum length of 3.8 centimetres.[2] Blennies in this species swim at a depth range of 5-12 metres,[2] and feed primarily off of zoobenthos and finfish.[4]
