She is also a member of the Norwegian Women's National Football Team, having made her senior team debut on 25 March 2006 in a match against Greece. Giske is the daughter of
Anders Giske , a former professional footballer who played for the Norwegian National Football Team, as well as clubs such asSK Brann , FC Nuremberg and Bayer Leverkusen.In June 2008 Giske was selected as a reserve for the Norwegian national side to travel to China for the
2008 Summer Olympics only minutes before she had an anterior cruciate ligament rupture diagnosed from a club match two days earlier. She hopes to resume football in 2009.References
