Duće

Duće is a Croatian village situated close to Omiš in the Split-Dalmatia County. It is a series of small settlements in Poljica, the area between the foot of the Mosor mountainous chain and the sea.

Village Duće was found before 12th century, because church of St. Marko in some date is mentioned in 12 th century. But church of St. Marija is build before it.

Duće previously formed a part of the Poljice Republic ruled by the Grand Duke according to the decrees of the Poljice Statute. Such a heritage has left an indelible imprint on that place which is proud of its preserved examples of popular rural architecture. Today, Duće is a settlement that consists of two parts: the modern touristic one, located by Adriatic the sea and the ancient, rural one, located in the foot of the Mosor

The place comprises: Luke, Rogača, Vavlja, Golubinka, Glavice and Dočina. It was once a place only inhabited with the families: Vojnović, Škarica, Čepić, Bilanović, Škobalj and Želalić. Now it has around 2000 inhabitants. The most important economic activity is tourism.

Duće is famous for its 5 kilometers long series of beautiful sandy beaches, that make it perfect destination for families with small children and young people that are looking for fun. Many restaurants and caffe bars and the vicitnity of the towns Omis, Makarska and Split guarantee you unforgettable holidays, not just sunbathing ad swimming in the crystal clear Adriatic sea.
