Marge Krupp "Margaret Krupp" (born May 30, 1956) is an American Chemical Engineer from Wisconsin. Krupp, a Democrat, is a full time candidate for the United States Congress. She ran against three other candidate's and won her party's nomination for election to the 1st District of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2008 primary election. Krupp will face off against Republican incumbent Paul Ryan on November 4, 2008.

Personal life

Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Krupp graduated with honors from her high school, Horlick High School. In 1978, Krupp graduated with a BS in Chemical Process Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and was on the Dean's List of Honors. In 1983, she graduated with her MBA from Northwestern University majoring in Marketing and Finance again graduating with Honors.

Career

After graduating in 1978, Krupp began working for S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc. in Racine, Wisconsin. She started as a Chemical Engineer and worked her way up to Consumer Product Management and engineering project management. In 1990, Krupp moved over to Abbott Laboratories, where she was an engineer and also managed multi-million dollar projects. Her major accomplishments while at Abbott Laboratories included a $19 million land acquisition, a $12.8 million project for adding Research & Development laboratory space and upgrading and expanding a major production process.

Krupp has been a full time candidate for almost 18 months, since declaring in March 2007. On September 9, 2008 she won the Democratic Primary, and will face off against Republican incumbent Paul Ryan.

Krupp has been seen as the first major Democratic Candidate to take on Paul Ryan in six years. She has raised over $100,000 dollars thus far, and has received several major endorsements.
