Praunheim is a district or "Stadtteil" of Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

It is located along the North bank of the river Nidda and composed of two settlements: to the East, old Praunheim, a typical Hessian village with a central commercial street and, to the West, the Praunheim Settlement, a major grouping of Bauhaus-designed public and private housing, a project led by the architect Ernst May.

Notable residents of Praunheim have included the jazz trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff, his brother, the saxophonist Emil Mangelsdorff, the film maker Rosa von Praunheim, and the US composer Daniel James Wolf.
