Geoffrey Lewis Tiarks

The Rt Rev Geoffrey Lewis Tiarks was Bishop of Maidstone in the latter part of the 20th century [Crockford's clerical directory 1975/76 Lambeth, Church House ISBN 0108153674] . Born into an ecclesiastical family [His father was "The Rev Lewis Hermann Tiarks", sometime Rector of Lerwick >"Scottish Episcopal Clergy, 1689-2000” Bertie, D.M: Edinburgh T & T Clark ISBN 0567087468 ] on 8 October 1909 he was educated at Marlborough College and St John's College, Cambridge [“Who was Who 1897-1990” London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . Following this he served the Church in Rondebosch, was then Vicar of Lyme Regis and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight.
