Bambarakanda Falls or Bambarakele Falls is 263m high and the highest waterfall in Sri lanka [Senanayake 2004: 1] and 299th highest waterfall in the world [cite web |url=http://www.worldwaterfalldatabase.com/waterfall.php?num=212|title=Bambarakande Falls|accessdate=2008-09-08|work=worldwaterfalldatabase.com] . It is situated in Kalupahana area in Badulla District on Colombo-Badulla highway. It is formed by Kuda Oya a tributary of Walawe Ganga. The Falls is located in a forest of Pine and tropical trees.
