The Triumph T140W TSS was the last British motorcycle made by Triumph at their Meriden factory.

Designed to appeal to the US market it had a eight valve Westlake Engineering cylinder head developed by American racer Jack Wilson. The crank was from a single forging making it much stiffer and producing one of the smoothest running motorcycles in the Triumnph range. The new cylinder head had smaller valves set at a steeper angle and recesses in the pistons allowed a 10:1 compression ratio. UK models had a pair of Amal MkII carburettors while the export models had Bing constant velocity carbs - but otherwise the TSS used parts common to the other Bonnevilles.

Launched in 1982 with an electric starter and updated black finish, the eight valve engine proved unreliable due to engineering problems with sealing rings used instead of a conventional cylinder head gasket.

Only 112 TSS's were actually exported by Triumph, as on August the 26th 1983 the factory at Meriden went into voluntary liquidation. [cite web|url=http://triumphmotorcycles.typepad.com/photos/1983_triumph_bonneville_t/index.html|title=The last Triumph|accessdate=2008-08-30]
