Dod Proctor

Artist 1892-1972

Artist (nee Doris Shaw), married to the artist Ernest Proctor [www.lakesidearts.org.uk] . She studied at Newlyn under Stanhope Forbes and at the Academie Colarossi, Paris. She found acclaim when her painting 'Morning' was displayed at the the 1927 Royal Academy Exhibition, and which is now in the Tate Gallery [www.tate.org.uk] . The subjects of her pictures are largely portraits and flowers [Newlyn Flowers: The Floral Works of Dod Procter by Averil King] .
