Andrew Tan

Andrew L. Tan is an entrepreneur from the Philippines who engages in real estate, liquor and fast food. According to a 2007 edition of the Forbes Magazine, Tan is the Philippines' fourth billionaire after Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Henry Sy and Lucio Tan (no relation). He has a fortune of $1.1 Billion.

Orginally a poor immigrant China, Tan was born in the Fujian province. He spent his childhood at an apartment in Hong Kong which was shared by other families and had short supply. Later, he moved to Manila where he studied accounting at University of the East. For economic reasons, he would head to school walking rather than riding on public transportations. light trouble with Donald Trump

One time, Andrew Tan established an expensive condominium in Makati which was originally called "The Trumps." This lead real estate developer Donald Trump and Trump's lawyers to believe that they had any ownership to the condominium. But Tan convinced them that they don't, and that he adapted the idea from a property in Singapore which had a similar name but had no connection to the American mogul.

In this, the condominium was renamed "One Central." Ironically, Tan thanked Trump's lawyers for "showing interest in his project." [cite web
