Robert McNeal (19 January 1891 – 12 May 1956), better known as Bobby McNeal, was an English footballer who played as a left-half.

Biography

McNeal was born in Hobson, County Durham. He turned professional with West Bromwich Albion in June 1910 and in his first full season (1910–11) helped the club win the Second Division title. He won a runners-up medal in the 1912 FA Cup Final when Albion lost to Barnsley in a replay. During the First World War he appeared as a guest player for Fulham, Middlesbrough, Notts County and Port Vale. McNeal was part of West Bromwich Albion's league championship-winning side of 1919–20. The team also won the 1920 Charity Shield. In May 1925 he retired through injury and from 1926 to 1927 served as Albion's coach. He died in West Bromwich in 1956.
