- Kangri language
The Kangri is a dialect spoken in northern
India , predominantly in theKangra district ofHimachal Pradesh , by the people ofKangra valley. It is anIndo-Aryan dialect, related to Dogri and classified as one of thePahari languages , with deep vocabulary impact from Punjabi, which is spoken to the West in the state of Punjab. Kangri along withDogri has been classified as a dialect of Punjabi by linguists but since the 60's for political reasons both have been promoted as a separate group calledPahari languages .General
