Plot

Johnny Kovacs is afraid of becoming an adult. He runs away from the Army to hide at a theatrical boarding house. He becomes friends with some other boarders and falls in love with a girl. When the Army tracks him down, his friends assume he is a deserter and push him into going back on duty.
