Bowral High School is a grade 7-12 secondary public school in Bowral. The school is one of two major public high schools in the Southern Highlands, the other being Moss Vale High. The school was built in 1929 as a tribute to the ANZACs of the Great War.

Bowral High School is a recognised Centre of Excellence in Performing Arts. The school community is committed to the pursuit of excellence by providing quality education to students of all abilities and backgrounds in a caring environment. The school motto 'excelsior' defines a school culture that encourages students at all times to surpass their personal best. The school's Code of Conduct clearly explains the expectation that students will demonstrate care, cooperation, contribution, commitment, consideration and courtesy in all dimensions of school life. Bowral High School has been declared a 'drug free zone' in consultation with the school community. Strong links have been developed with the wider community and school alumni.

Bowral High caters as a school for a wide area, the main locations are:
* Bowral & East Bowral.
* Mittagong
* Northern Villages such as Braemar, Colo Vale, Hill Top and Yerrinbool.

The Smith Cup

Since 1928, annually Bowral High School versus Goulburn High School in a series of sports such as rugby, soccer, cricket, basketball, netball and many other sports one day every year to win the Smith Cup. This sporting cup and competition is one of the oldest in New South Wales and is going into it's 80th year of practise this year.

Facilities

Bowral is a medium sized modern campus. The main buildings include the original historical building built in 1929, a large 3 storey block built in the 1970s and a few more buildings from the 1980s and 1990s. Facilities on Bowral High include science labs, computer labs, a library, kitchens, textile rooms, industrial art labs, basketball courts, amphitheatre or cola area and sporting fields.

Bowral High has a long range of subjects based on the N.S.W Board of Studies curriculum for the Higher School Certificate and School Certificate. Notably, it has some subjects that aren't available at the independent schools of the area; Oxley College and Chevalier College.
