Gerd Grieg

Gerd Grieg

Gerd Grieg, née Egede-Nissen (21 April 1895 - 1988) was a Norwegian actress.

She was born in Bergen. Her father Adam Egede-Nissen was a politician, whereas her sister Aud Egede-Nissen became an actress too. Gerd made her acting debut at the Nationaltheatret in 1910.

She was married to writer Nordahl Grieg. During the German occupation of Norway the two were active in the Norwegian resistance movement. Gerd Grieg mostly stayed in the United States and Great Britain, "entertaining Norwegian seamen like a Norwegian Vera Lynn".
