Weavers' cottage

Weavers' cottage

A weavers' cottage was (and to a limited extent continue to be) a type of house used by weavers for cloth production in the Domestic system.

Weavers' cottages were common in Great Britain, particularly in Yorkshire, usually with dwelling quarters on the lower floors and loom-shops on the top floor. Weavers' cottages gave rise to developments in textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution.
