"Kongcrete" is the eponymous debut album by alternative rock band Kongcrete and was released in April 2008.

The album's music is one of a kind blend of alternative rock and Hip Hop music genres. According to the band it is a unique attempt in introduction of a new musical genre called Ghetto Rock.

Background

The idea for this album originated in year 2004. This was a year of Kongcrete's first appearances at some of the New York City's finest venues like the legendary CBGB, Arlene's Grocery, Don Hills, Wild Spirits, The Pyramid, Fat Baby and more. Kongcrete shows have been described by many spectators as "one of a kind". "I've never heard anything like it. This is a show you can't miss. They're heavy and there's Hip Hop, but its not rap rock. Its a really fresh sound. While performing at the shows, members of Kongcrete worked continuously on writing, arranging and re-arranging material for their debut album. The recording process began at the end of year 2006 and carried on until Summer of 2007. For nearly two years four members of Kongcrete have committed themselves to creating and producing over 20 songs, 12 of which have made the final cut. In the early year 2007 the band has teamed up with the world-wide known graphic artist Carlos Huante. Carlos has worked as a visual and special effects designer on some of the most notable sci-fi films. With music already recorded and cover art ready, Kongcrete began mixing in the Summer of 2007. Audio mixing process took place at The BoilerRoom Studio in Brooklyn, NY.In the beginning of 2008 the "Kongcrete" album was ready for mastering. Following the footsteps of some of the top artists like Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, Kanye West, and many more, the band decided to trust with their album one of the most recognizable mastering engineer in the music industry, Vlado Meller.
