Ray Boshell

Ray Boshell is an American politician and former Mayor of Haleyville, Alabama.

Early life

Born on April 18, 1963. Son of Muris and Virgina Boshell. Growing up in Haleyville, Ray Boshell's father was a Chiropractor in the Haleyville area. Ray attended high school at Haleyville High School and was active in Journalism and the Band.

College and work

Ray Boshell attended college in his home state of Alabama, and worked as a computer programer with the Department of Medicine at UAB. At the age of 25 he moved to Marietta Georgia and graduated from Life Chiropractic College, Boshell moved back home to practice as a Chiropractor with his father. After his father moved to Jasper to practice, Ray took over the practice and has been there ever since.

Mayor of Haleyville

In 1996, Ray Boshell was elected Mayor of Haleyville. During his years as mayor, many businesses settled in Haleyville, and the cities population also grew. Ray Boshell was one of Haleyville's outstanding mayors. But in 2000, Boshell announced he would not run for reelection, to focus on starting a family

Personal life

Ray Boshell is married to Dr. Amy Boshell and has three children. Jedi(6), Melissa(4) and Kimber(1)

Mayor Election 2008

In July 2008 Ray Boshell announced he would once again run for Mayor of Haleyville. On July 14, 2008 Ray Boshell withdrew from the Mayoral Race at 1:37pm. Dr. Ray considers his political career over.
