Bob Halverson

Bob Halverson

Robert George "Bob" Halverson (born 22 October 1937) was an Australian politician. Born in Melbourne, he served in the military from 1958-1981, and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1978. In 1984, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Casey. On the election of the Howard Liberal Government in 1996, Halverson was appointed Speaker of the House, a position he held until his retirement from politics in 1998.
