"I Love You Phillip Morris" is an upcoming 2009 film based on the real life events of con artist and impostor Steven Jay Russell. While incarcerated, Russell fell in love with his cell mate, Phillip Morris. After Morris was released from prison, Russell escaped from prison four times in order be reunited with Morris.
Currently, the film is in production and stars Jim Carrey as Russell and Ewan McGregor as Morris. It is scheduled to be released on Valentine's Day, 2009.
McGregor has stated the film to be in his own words, "a gay prison romance story".
