Dr.Paramjit Singh (born February 28, 1960) is Principal/Dean/Professor of PDM College of Engineering at the P.D. Memorial Religious and Educational Association (PDMREA).Having twenty plus years of teaching, research, and administrative experience at institutes of repute at national level.

Education

Professor (Dr) Paramjit Singh, holds Ph.D. and M.Phil, both in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Post Master’s Diploma in Computer Science and Masters from Center for advance Studies in Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Career

Prior to joining PDMCE, Dr. Singh worked on three important assignment : (i) as Dean and Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), (ii) as Dean and Professor, College of Computing and Applied Software Engineering (C2ASE), and (iii) as Dean of Directorate of Correspondence Courses, Rai Foundation, New Delhi. Before Rai foundation, Dr. Singh worked as Professor of Computer Sciences and Information Technology at International Management Institute, New Delhi, a premier management institute in India. Earlier he worked as Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer at Punjabi University Patiala, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, teaching M.Tech, M.C.A., and B.Tech. Computer Science classes and supervised 35 Post-Graduate dissertations. At Punjabi University, he also worked as head (officiating), Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He also has the privilege of working at Semiconductors Complex Limited, Chandigarh, Asia’s biggest electronics industry.

Research works

His doctoral studies relates research in the field of Natural Language Processing carried out at Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, University of Maryland, College Park.His research interests include Algorithmic, Artificial Intelligence, Data Base Management Systems, Data Structures, Natural Language Processing, Object Oriented Technologies and Software Engineering.

He is a founder member of “Society for Machine Aids for Translation and Communication (SMATAC)”.

Honors

Dr. Singh has chaired various selection committees as Subject Expert, and has been a member of various academic/ research/ professional committees. He is a founder member of “Society for Machine Aids for Translation and Communication (SMATAC)”.
