There are about 7,000 persons of Indian origin in Belgium. Indians mainly found working as professionals or running businesses. Indians are employed in Software, the Diamond business and a few local industries in the major cities. Gujaratis from Palanpur district in Gujarat initially arived in Antwerp to work in the diamond business with the Jewish community and eventually started their own enterprises in diamond cutting. The Antwerp Indians are a tightly knit group and celebrate Indian festivals actively.

Indian Software companies like HCL, TCS and Infosys have a presence in Belgium and employ many Indians. Indian software engineers are also in demand by multinationals.
