immunophilin

immunophilin
Generic term for intracellular protein that binds immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin, FK 506, rapamycin. Both cyclophilin and the receptor for FK506 are peptidyl prolyl cis-trans isomerases (rotamases). Immunophilins are thought to interact with calcineurin.
