Hind II


Hind II
(= HindII;Hind II)
First type II restriction endonuclease identified, by Hamilton Smith in 1970. Isolated from Haemophilus influenzae Rd, it cleaves the sequence `GTPyPuAc\' between the unspecified pyrimidine and purine generating "blunt ends".
