extensin
Glycoprotein of the plant cell wall, characterized by its high hydroxyproline content. Carbohydrate side-chains are composed of simple galactose residues and oligosaccharides containing 1-4 arabinose residues. Part of a larger class of hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins. Function uncertain.
