affinity labelling

affinity labelling
Labelling of the active site of an enzyme or the binding site of a receptor by means of a reactive substance that forms a covalent linkage once having bound. Linkage is often triggered by a change in conditions, for example in photoaffinity labelling as a result of illumination by light of an appropriate wavelength.
