- dnaA etc.
Genes in E. coli that are involved in coding for replication machinery. dnaA and P produce proteins involved in replication at the chromosome origin; dnaB, C and D are involved in primosome formation; dnaE codes for subunits of polymerase II; dnaF for ribonucleotide reductase; dnaG codes for primase; dnaH, Q, X and Z for components of polymerase III; dnaI for protein involved at the replication fork; dnaJ and K are necessary to ensure survival at high temperature, also considered essential for phage lambda replication; dnaL and M are uncharacterized; dnaT protein interacts with dnaC product, dnaW codes adenylate kinase.
