cyclin-dependent kinase
Family of kinases including cdc28, cdc2 and p34cdc2 that are only active when they form a complex with cyclins. The complex is maturation-promoting factor (MPF) and its activity is necessary for cells to leave G2 and enter mitosis. Catalytic domain resembles that of cAMP-dependent kinase (PKA)
