toxic shock-like syndrome
(TSLS)
A disease caused by an invasive group A streptococcus infection that is characterized by a rapid drop in blood pressure, failure of many organs, and a very high fever. It probably results from the release of one or more streptococcal pyrogenic exotoxins.
