1. In Diptera, an eversible membranous distal section of the male intromittent organ.
2. In male Lepidoptera, a sclerotized plate at the base of the aedeagus; sometimes connected to the anellus by a thin median process that is often forked so as to surround the aedeagus; has been used as a synonym of the anellus of the aedeagal fulcrum.
