coarctate larva
(ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
1. A larva similar to the dipteran puparium in which the skin of the preceding instar is not completely shed, being attached to the caudal end of the body.
2. The sixth instar of a meloid larva with the fifth exuvium present; a pseudopupa; a semipupa.
