Hercynian Her*cyn"i*an, a. [L. Hercynia silva, Hercynius saltus, the Hercynian forest; cf. Gr. ? ?.] Of or pertaining to an extensive forest in Germany, of which there are still portions in Swabia and the Hartz mountains. [1913 Webster]
