Glass-rope Glass"-rope`, n. (Zo["o]l.) A remarkable vitreous sponge, of the genus {Hyalonema}, first brought from Japan. It has a long stem, consisting of a bundle of long and large, glassy, siliceous fibers, twisted together. [1913 Webster]
