Elaeoptene E`l[ae]*op"tene, n. [Gr. ? olive oil, oil + ? winged, fleeting.] (Chem.) The more liquid or volatile portion of certain oily substance, as distinguished from stearoptene, the more solid parts. [Written also {elaoptene}.] [1913 Webster]
