Nandou Nan"dou, Nandu Nan"du, n. [Braz. nhandu or yandu.] (Zo["o]l.) Any one of three species of South American ostriches of the genera {Rhea} and {Pterocnemia}, especially the smallest, {Pterocnemia pennata} (formerly {Rhea Americana}), called also the {common rhea}.
