Chief hare
Chief hare Chief" hare` (Zo["o]l.) A small rodent ({Lagamys princeps}) inhabiting the summits of the Rocky Mountains; -- also called {crying hare}, {calling hare}, {cony}, {American pika}, and {little chief hare}. [1913 Webster]
