[imp. & p. p. {Braided}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Braiding}.] [OE. braiden, breiden, to pull, reach, braid, AS. bregdan to move to and fro, to weave; akin. to Icel. breg[eth]a, D. breiden to knit, OS. bregdan to weave, OHG. brettan to brandish.
