Whinyard Whin"yard, n. [Cf. Prov. E. & Scot. whingar, whinger; perhaps from AS. winn contention, war + geard, gyrd, a staff, rod, yard; or cf. AS. hw[=i]nan to whistle, E. whine.] 1. A sword, or hanger. [Obs.] [1913 Webster]
