Varec
Varec Var"ec, n. [F. varech; of Teutonic origin. See {Wrack} seaweed, wreck.] The calcined ashes of any coarse seaweed used for the manufacture of soda and iodine; also, the seaweed itself; fucus; wrack. [1913 Webster]
