Stature Stat"ure (st[a^]ch"[~e]r; also, st[a^]t"[-u]r; 135), n. [F. stature, OF. estature, from L. statura, originally, an upright posture; hence, height or size of the body, from stare, statum, to stand. See {Stand}.] The natural height of an animal body; -- generally used of the human body. [1913 Webster]
