Scorpaenoid Scor*p[ae]"noid, a. [NL. Scorpaena, a typical genus (see {Scorpene}) + -oid.] (Zo["o]l.) Of or pertaining to the family {Scorp[ae]nid[ae]}, which includes the scorpene, the rosefish, the California rockfishes, and many other food fishes.
