Polverine Pol"ve*rine, n. [It. polverino, fr. polvere ?ust, L. pulvis, -veris. See {Powder}.] Glassmaker's ashes; a kind of potash or pearlash, brought from the Levant and Syria, -- used in the manufacture of fine glass. [1913 Webster]
