Manbote Man"bote`, n. [AS. man man, vassal + b[=o]t recompense.] (Anglo-Saxon Law) A sum paid to a lord as a pecuniary compensation for killing his man (that is, his vassal, servant, or tenant). --Spelman. [1913 Webster]
